Nelo Vinuesa (b. 1980) invites the spectators to dive into his color field paintings infused with various hues of vivid colors and abstract compositions to convey emotional depth in his paintings.

The vibrant colors that protrude forward on the canvas function as a conduit for the human psyche to explore the intersubjective expression which the abstract composition generates. Through the quick and automatic technique of action painting Vinuesa practices, he manages to produce colorful and abstract landscapes which demand the viewers visual perception to find a point of reference from within, by allowing oneself to be affected by the clashing, lively colors.

Vinuesas artworks are often an expression of his own emotions and the temperamental landscapes of his color field paintings tend to reflect his own personal experiences. In using color and form intuitively as a tool to create a harmonic balance in the canvas, Vinuesa achieves a release of expression of the essential inner landscapes of human emotionality in his artworks.

The dark color palette in the paintings showcased are equally intrusive, as they are engaging in their character. The black veil placed across the canvases unlocks a curiosity which beckons the spectators to look further into the mirroring landscapes of the paintings to that of the subjective self.
